Made by hand,
in small numbers
We make headwear for people who notice the details. Each piece is cut, pleated and finished in our Hangzhou studio, in runs of forty — never more.
How it began
A studio, not a factory
Rovee Headwear started with a single headband — made on a kitchen table because nothing on the market felt quite right. Too stiff, too shiny, too obviously made by the thousand.
We wanted the opposite: something soft, quiet, made slowly. So we found two small ateliers, learned to pleat silk by hand, and began making pieces for friends.
Five years on, we still make everything the same way. No mass production, no seasonal churn — just a small, changing collection of pieces we would wear ourselves.
The materials
Honest things, well used
We choose materials for how they age, not how they photograph. A piece that looks perfect on day one and falls apart by day thirty is not a piece at all.
- Mulberry silk — 19-momme, woven for us in Suzhou. Soft, breathable, and gets better with every wear.
- Freshwater pearl — irregular by nature, each one sorted and set by hand.
- Recycled brass — locally cast, nickel-free, finished with a durable gold tone.
- Silk-blend velvet — with a slight stretch so pieces keep their shape without pulling.
Our promise
Forty pieces, then we stop
Every style is made in a single batch of forty. When they are gone, they are gone — we do not restock the same thing twice. This keeps the work honest, the inventory small, and the pieces special.
Small batch
Runs of forty, never more.
Hand-finished
Every edge rolled by hand.
